American Innovation Project Launches as Educational Resource for U.S. Leaders Addressing Technology Challenges of the 21st Century
WASHINGTON D.C., August 19, 2025 — American Innovation Project (AIP), a new nonpartisan, educational 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to fostering informed dialogue on the policy and technology issues shaping the future of the U.S. economy, officially launched today, August 19, 2025.
“Our mission is simple, but urgent: we must equip America’s leaders with the knowledge, context, and tools they need as they consider timely rules and regulations that meet the moment and account for a rapidly evolving technological landscape,” said Kristin Smith, Board of Directors President of American Innovation Project, and President of Solana Policy Institute. “The American Innovation Project was established to foster dialogues regardless of partisan affiliation, so we can bridge divides and work together to move our country forward.”
Emerging Technology Education
AIP will be a convener of innovation education, and AIP will be hosting a variety of events – from industry gatherings and public forms, to smaller group roundtables, and a mix of workshops and educational programming. On Thursday August 21, 2025, an inaugural, off-record AIP Summit will take place in Jackson, Wyoming. These events will connect policymakers, industry innovators, and subject-matter experts, and be focused on translating complex, emerging technological trends — from artificial intelligence to blockchain infrastructure — into actionable understanding.
“AIP’s creation is grounded in the belief that comprehensive understanding of innovation must transcend political lines,” explained Allie Page, Board Member of American Innovation Project, and Chief Operating Officer of Blockchain Association. “The organization is committed to building programming and creating spaces where decision-makers from all sides of the aisle can learn, question, and collaborate on the challenges and opportunities posed by technological change.”
Launching with Industry Support
AIP launches with support from several well-respected leading emerging tech companies and investors, including seed funding from Cedar Innovation Foundation, and a $1M contribution from DCG, AIP’s lead launch donor. AIP has already attracted support from leading industry organizations, including Andreessen Horowitz, Coinbase, Kraken, National Cryptocurrency Association, Paradigm, Solana Policy Institute, Stand With Crypto, Uniswap Labs, and more.
“The future of the U.S. economy will be shaped by the choices we make today in developing emerging technologies,” said Mark Murphy, President of DCG. “The American Innovation Project offers a nonpartisan forum where lawmakers, innovators, and entrepreneurs can collaborate on thoughtful, forward-looking discussions and solutions. DCG is proud to be a founding supporter of AIP’s important work to inform U.S. innovation and secure our continued global leadership.”
“Coinbase is proud to support the American Innovation Project, an organization committed to addressing the critical need for education on crypto and emerging technologies. Policymakers and their staff are clearly eager for data, real-world use cases, and constituent stories about crypto. AIP is ready and excited to meet that need,” said Kara Calvert, VP US Policy, Coinbase.
AIP’s Board of Directors includes:
Kristin Smith, AIP Board President and President at Solana Policy Institute
Allie Page, Chief Operating Officer at Blockchain Association
Julie Stitzel, Senior Vice President of Policy at DCG
